What a sensible , logical analysis based on historical events and political development in the Baloishtan . This narrative should be publicized to present true picture of the Balochistan issue. People like Anwar ul Haq Khakar should be encouraged to tackle the wisely. Baloch are not the only ethenic community in Balochistan , Pashtun , Bhravi and Hazara are also living in Balochistan. Since creation of the Pakistan they are playing with the integrity and sovereignty of the country. If they do not want to live in Pakistan , Baloch may go back to their origin area of migration. They have no right to kill innocent Punjabis travelling in Balochistan. BAL should learn to live peacefully otherwise peace loving people of Pakistan know how to treat these criminals and Murders. Kakar Sahib's narration of the history of the accession of Baluchistan to Pakistan is as accurate as can be. There is more about the reasons for the delays in Kalat and Gwadar, etc.joining the federation but that is irrelevant here. The main issue we are facing today is the misguided claim by some elements in the name of all of Baluchistan for its separation from Pakistan for whatever reasons. The reality is that ethnic Baluchis form only forty percent of its population and is divided into more than eighty different tribes and subtribes that remain at loggerheads with each other over water, land, pasture rights, etc. The rest sixty percent are ethnic Pashtoons, Sindhis, Punjabis, Mekranis, Brahui and others. To complicate matters further, more ethnic Baloch are living in Sind and Punjab than there are in Baluchistan itself. Once separated, there is little chance of their forming a cohesive and peaceful nation.
This being the case, why all the calls for independence? As for the exploitation of Baluchistan's natural resources, it is mutual give and take. PK, Punjab and Sind could equally claim that the waters of the Indus River belong to them and should not be used to irrigate more than a million acres in Baluchistan, which thankfully they have not done so far. It is puerile to go down this line any further. The question I have for our media pundits is why are they not covering these aspects of the issue as well as how long will we be able to sustain the rate of growth of population from 35 million in 1947 to a whopping 250 million today? Time to look into your own 'garebaan' Chaudhay Sahib instead of boring us to death with the ongoing shenanigans of imbecilic politicians.
